Bath is a small city situated in the beautiful countryside of southwest England. Named for its Roman Baths fed by natural hot springs, the city is famous for its 18th-century Georgian architecture. Bath stone has been used throughout the city including in the Bath Abbey; a stunning and historic building noted for its fan-vaulting, tower and stained-glass windows. The author Jane Austen was a resident of Bath in the 1800s and Bath features in all of her novels:

“They arrived in Bath. Catherine was all eager delight; – her eyes were here, there, everywhere, as they approached its fine and striking environs, and afterwards drove through those streets which conducted them to the hotel. She was come to be happy, and she felt happy already”. [Northanger Abbey]

Modern day Bath is a cosmopolitan and vibrant city, popular as a destination for those wishing to live within commuting distance of London as well as with tourists.
